Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy can be uncomfortable and sometimes even painful.  (Danielle knows this first hand, as she has an 8-year-old daughter!)

Pregnancy Massage may be beneficial in promoting relaxation, soothing nerves, and relieving strained back and leg muscles, during a normal, healthy pregnancy.  An overall feeling of well-being can be instilled by massage to both the mother and unborn child.

Massage has many scientifically proven health benefits such as stimulating the blood and lymph systems, thereby increasing immunity and removal of toxins; stabilizing hormonal levels; and adding tone and flexibility to muscles -- all of which enhance the health of both you and your baby. As pregnancy progresses, your body adjusts to a changing alignment caused by the baby's increasing weight. This puts strain on your back and legs and increases stress on weight-bearing joints. Massage increases flexibility, enhancing the ability to carry this extra weight while also relieving aches and pains, leg cramps and muscle spasms. The effects of relaxation and tension release add to improvement in the physical state of muscles and joints, and assist in balancing emotions.

Massage is not recommended for those whom experience toxemia or pre-eclampsia as a complication of pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia is a condition of pregnancy related to increased blood pressure in the mother that affects the placenta.

Tru Massage uses a special table that angles up so you can lie on your back angled while we work on your head, neck, arms, and legs then have you turn onto your left side if comfortable to work on your back.
