TENSION MIGRAINE RELIEF

Massage therapy has shown to improve many ailments such as pain, poor circulation and migraines. Studies from the Touch Research Institute indicate that people who receive regular massage have reduced migraine symptoms, increased sleep quality, increased serotonin levels and fewer migraines. There are several different massage therapies that are effective in reducing migraine symptoms.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage is a more focused type of therapy that aims to release areas of tension, or "knots," in the deeper levels of musculature.

Deep Tissue Massage refers to various regimens or massage styles that are directed toward the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. The aim is to affect the various layers of fascia that support muscle tissues and loosen bonds between the layers of connective tissues. Specifically, therapists work to release adhesions, which are rigid bands of tissue that can cause pain, chronic tension and restrict motion.

Deep tissue massage is generally used to target a specific area of pain, stiffness or reduced function, primarily by breaking down adhesions that often form as a response to injury. They can cause reduced range of motion and chronic pain. Some of the conditions for which deep tissue massage may be helpful include: fibromyalgia, sports or other injuries to muscles such as strains, sprains or pulls; pain from osteoarthritis or other bone conditions; or repetitive motion injuries, including carpal tunnel syndrome.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a specific pressure technique applied to the feet where all the internal body structures and organs are mapped or mirrored in miniature. On the feet are reflex points which correspond to different organs of the body and by pressing or working on one of these points the corresponding organ is affected. If crystals or tenderness is felt in a certain area it is an indication of a blockage or imbalance in the corresponding organ or body parts. Crystals are waste deposits made up of excess calcium and uric acid that build up when the metabolism is not working correctly. The reflexologist will spend time working on these crystals and sensitive areas using the thumbs and sometimes fingers to help release the blockages and break down the deposits so they can be eliminated by the body.

Reflexology is a safe non invasive and a relaxing treatment. It's aim is to help the body to heal itself and to maintain a balanced state of health.

SWEDISH MASSAGE

Swedish massage is light relaxing massage helping get the blood flowing and destress vs Deep Tissue is medium-deep pressure used to work the knots and aches out of the muscles.  Many ask which is best for them and the answer all depends on if you are coming to relax and destress (swedish) or if coming to get rid of achy muscles and knots (deep tissue). If getting headaches then best to concentrate on neck, shoulders most to loosen the tight muscles.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Anyone who routinely stretches their physical limits through movement such as running, cycling, hiking, swimming, dancing, tennis and other racquet sports, strength training and aerobics can benefit from a massage. There are others who does strenuous activities in a day that is not normally classified as exercise. Examples are mothers with small children, gardeners, and others who use their bodies strenuously in their work.Incorporating massage in your conditioning program has many benefits. It helps you get into good shape faster, and with less stiffness and soreness. It helps you recover faster from heavy workouts, and relieves conditions which may cause injury.

PRENATAL/PREGNANCY

Pregnancy Massage may be beneficial in promoting relaxation, soothing nerves, and relieving strained back and leg muscles, during a normal, healthy pregnancy.  An overall feeling of well-being can be instilled by massage to both the mother and unborn child.

Massage has many scientifically proven health benefits such as stimulating the blood and lymph systems, thereby increasing immunity and removal of toxins; stabilizing hormonal levels; and adding tone and flexibility to muscles -- all of which enhance the health of both you and your baby. As pregnancy progresses, your body adjusts to a changing alignment caused by the baby's increasing weight. This puts strain on your back and legs and increases stress on weight-bearing joints. Massage increases flexibility, enhancing the ability to carry this extra weight while also relieving aches and pains, leg cramps and muscle spasms. The effects of relaxation and tension release add to improvement in the physical state of muscles and joints, and assist in balancing emotions.

Massage is not recommended for those whom experience toxemia or pre-eclampsia as a complication of pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia is a condition of pregnancy related to increased blood pressure in the mother that affects the placenta.

Tru Massage uses a special table that angles up so you can lie on your back angled while we work on your head, neck, arms, and legs then have you turn onto your left side if comfortable to work on your back.

MASSAGE CUPPING

Danielle Got Certified in Massage Cupping April 2015.  Massage Cupping can be added to any Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports or Tension Migraine Relief Massage for an extra $10.  Tru Massage only offers Dry Cupping (plastic and glass cups- no fire, no bleeding).

Through suction, the skin is gently drawn upwards by creating a vacuum in a cup over the target area of the skin. The cup stays in place for five to fifteen minutes. It is believed by some to help treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite. For weight loss and cellulite treatments, oil is first applied to the skin, and then the cups are moved up and down the surrounding area.

Cupping is one of the best deep-tissue therapies available. It is thought to affect tissues up to four inches deep from the external skin. Toxins can be released, blockages can be cleared, and veins and arteries can be refreshed within these four inches of affected materials. Even hands, wrists, legs, and ankles can be ‘cupped,' thus applying the healing to specific organs that correlate with these points.

SEATED ASHIATSU (with feet)

The seated portion of Ashiatsu is the key to a complete, effective, deeply relaxing and efficient treatment. Seated work is essential to warming up the paraspinals for deeper work and properly prepare the spine for elongation.
